Fallen Staff - Joseph Masterson (Matt) Delozier

End of Watch: Monday, September 9, 1935

Federal Probation Officer Joseph Masterson (Matt) Delozier was en route to Tulsa, Oklahoma, on official business for Federal Judge Franklin E. Kennamer and had stopped at a Supulpa, Oklahoma, filling station to refuel his car. As he exited his vehicle his weapon fell to the pavement and discharged, striking him in the thigh and severing an artery. Officer DeLozier succumbed to his injuries at 3:00 p.m. Officer DeLozier was survived by his wife, who was visiting one of their daughters in Boston at the time of his death.  Matt was survived by three daughters, one son, and his parents.

This curator has uncovered Marie’s middle name was “Frances” and “Christopher” was her maiden name.
