4" X 4 ½" patch designed by U.S. Probation Officer Mathew Erickson (Ret.), Western District of Michigan.  In the background is the Mackinac Bridge, a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the non-contiguous Upper and Lower peninsulas of the state.  It was opened in 1957.  Produced by Stadri Emblems, 2011.

The writing on the patch, next to the islands which make up the district: “Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ‘Āina i ka Pono,” is the motto of Hawaii. Translated to mean: “The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.” Produced by ISI Services Corp.

3 1/2" patch composed of the U.S. Great Seal superimposed upon the flag of the state of Alabama, a crimson cross on a field of white. Designed by former, Drug & Alcohol Treatment Specialist, Southern District of Georgia.  He moved to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in 2013.  This 4” patch was a fund raiser for the Law Enforcement United bicycle ride, 2013. Produced by ISI Services Corp, 2013.

4" patch exactly the same as "state of Alaska" patch on the right.  Obtained from Alaskan police officer who traded for it in the 1980’s or 1990’s. Investigation ongoing.  

4" patch is believed to have been produced by Blumenthal Uniforms, Seattle, Washington. This example is not marked, however another known example is marked Squad Room Emblems, Port Angeles, Washington. This patch is unknown to the District of Alaska. Notice an error? Should say "district" not "state". Believed to be old and was scheduled to be destroyed.

Very large 4.5" square patch designed by U.S. Probation Officer Specialist using elements of the Old Man of the Mountain on Cannon Mountain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This is a commemorative symbol because the iconic land feature collapsed May 3, 2003. One hundred patches were produced by Stadri Emblems in 2017. No plastic backing. 4 1/2" x 3 3/4" patch is 70% embroidered, with a heat cut border and no plastic backing. Donated Chief Pretrial Services Officer and designed by Pretrial Officer in 2018. Manufactured by Quality Lapel Pins, Inc. (the parent company of Quality Embroidered Patches).  The Chief initially ordered 100 and gave one to each staff member.  

Variation of 4 1/2" x 3 3/4" patch is 70% embroidered, with merrowed border and hook-and-loop fastener backing.

3 1/2" woven patch designed by Chief U.S. Probation Officer; the DCUSPO; SUSPO; two USPO’s in 2018.  Approximately 1,000 patches were manufactured by The/Studio, Los Angles, CA.  Symbolized in the design are a Latte Stone - Ancient Chamorro House Foundation dug out of limestone; Proa-Outrigger Canoe with a triangular sail used by the Ancient Chamorros; Bouganvillea-Puti Tai Nobio, the National flower of Guam; Plumeria- a Scented Flower used in MwarMwar  prevalent in the Northern Mariana Islands, which are culturally significant in the Carolinian Culture.  

First custom patches made for MD/NC, September 2018. 4.5" patch designed and donated by U.S. Probation Officer Specialist, Middle District of North Carolina. Patch includes the colors of the NC flag, along with the gold scrolls from the state flag indicating the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence (May 20, 1775) and of the Halifax Resolves (April 12, 1776). The middle district is colored by a traditional "Carolina Blue" and highlights the location of our five district offices. Approximately 500 produced, self-funded by officers. 

3.5" Search and Enforcement Team (SET) patch used by search team on their carriers during searches. Federal eagle is imposed over outline of North Carolina. Design elements were inspired by the black Georgia SET patch from the early 90's and the MD/NC USMS Joint Task Force patch. Three hundred patches were produced in September 2018. Designed and donated by U.S.. Probation Officer Specialist, Middle district of North Carolina.

4 1/8" X 3 3/8" patch designed by Supervisory U.S. Probation Officer, Southern District of Mississippi.  The five stars represent the 5th Circuit.  ISI Services Corp. produced 255 patches in 2018.

3 1/2" patch was created in July/Aug 2018 by Symbol Arts, with 100 made. A SUSPO had the concept for the patch and the creative artwork done by the brother of a search team member. Symbolized are the scales of justice made using SST for “Search and Seizure Team.” The four six-pointed stars under the scale represent the City of Chicago’s Flag. The left side of the scale is a magnifying glass representing searching and understanding. The right side of the scale shows arrows symbolizing protection, force and defense. Donation coordinated by Deputy Chief Probation Officer II, Northern District of Illinois, and patch donated by SUSPO who developed the concept.

4" patch designed by members of the Search and Surveillance Team. Gargoyles were commonly used in medieval times to ward off evil.  One hundred patches made by Monterey Company, Inc. 2019. Donated by then, Deputy Chief Probation Officer II, now Chief, Middle district of Pennsylvania, 2016. 

113 hook-and-loop fastener backed patch were produced in November 2019 by Symbol Arts.  Measures 3 3/4" X 3 3/4." Designed by a then search team member and this curator, Western District of Michigan.  Inspiration for the patch came to USPO search team member in a dream.  The State of Michigan is covered by the Thin Blue Line flag, and the search vest represents the search teams efforts to protect citizens of the district and hold persons under supervision accountable to their Court ordered conditions. 

This variant has the words Federal Officer on the vest.   

5 1/4" patch at the widest point. Designed by two USPO’s, one of the officers uncles, and with the help of many others in the office. The eagle is holding a wand and the top hat has a Thin Blue Line ribbon.  Billings was nicknamed the Magic City because of its rapid growth from a tent town on the banks of the Yellowstone River in March 1882, to the largest distribution center in the state. ISI Services Corp. produced 101 patches, half with hook-and-loop fastener backing, in September 2020.

U.S. Probation cancer awareness patch. The 4 1/2" patch, base color of silver, represents all cancers.  Pink is used for breast cancer, and green represents lymphoma. The writing on the patch, next to the islands which make up the district: “Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ‘Āina i ka Pono,” is the motto of Hawaii.  Translated to mean: “The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.”  Designed by SUSPO District of Hawaii.  600 patches were produced in January 2020, but the first patches were distributed in October 2020 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This 4" U.S. Probation Officer patch is a memorial to USPO Kelli Morgan who died unexpectedly March 18, at age 46. She began her career as a POA in Las Vegas, December 2007. She was promoted to USPO in 2010 and worked in the presentence and supervision units. Kelli served the Court and communities of Nevada with professionalism and distinction. She was known for her humor, big smile, and willingness to help her colleagues. The patches were created and coordinated by officers in Nevada with donations from officers, attorneys, and judges.

3 5/8" X 2 1/4" patch, Eastern District of New York Pretrial.  Donation courtesy USPO previously of EDNY, now in the District of Connecticut.  Stadri Emblems, produced 50 patches in 2019.  Fabric back, no heat-sealed plastic backing.
